Part-Time Graphic Designer (x2)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Soldiers of Creation is seeking a Part-Time Graphic Designers to join our inclusive team of activists. Your role will include creating branded and marketing material for the organization. You will also be making some graphic content for the social media platforms.

*These are volunteer positions in a team of volunteers; however, for our work to thrive, we do expect a high level of commitment from each team member. 

**These positions are available to international applicants.

Deadline: Until it is filled.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create advertisements for upcoming events/workshops

  • Create signage for events as needed

  • Create signage for photoshoots as needed 

  • Create stop motion videos for some events

  • Create visual content for social media accounts: post creatives, GIFs, infographics

  • Edit images from community photoshoots

  • Create marketing and business materials as needed

  • Attend fundraisers, large events (1-2 per year); mandatory - SOC team is all hands on deck

Role Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite softwares, Canva, Mailchimp

  • Intermediate typography skills and graphic design skills, awareness for accessible design is an asset

  • Experience creating artwork/graphics to be reproduced online and in-print.

  • Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing schedules

    • We collaborate with many community and international professionals who work with varying schedules and/or in different time zones. 

    • We are heavily focused on social issues, therefore we must be able to respond promptly to significant community / global developments. 

  • Must have previous volunteer, charity, or start-up organizations/business work experience

  • Must be able to take direction well and execute feedback

  • Strong communication skills

  • You must be an empathetic and open-minded individual and carry out tasks/correspondents with fellow volunteers, but most importantly, the people we connect with/are providing services to.

  • Strong project management skills 

  • Desire to connect with the community and thrive in the collaborative working environment 

  • May be asked to support E-commerce Manager will our art shop graphics or pop-ups

  • Must be a survivor of sexual assault or abuse, or be an ally to this cause

Nice To Haves:

  • Previous volunteer, charity, or start-up organizations/businesses work experience

  • Animation abilities: short looping video content/GIFS.

  • Video editing skills

  • Familiarity with social media spaces and their respective content-uploading interfaces

Soldiers of Creation is a gender inclusive Social Enterprise focused on creating a safe space for survivors and allies of sexual assault to connect, educate, and empower each other. 

We understand everyone heals differently so our goal is to provide survivors with as many options as possible to suit their individual healing needs. We design and host a variety of workshops while teaming up with local facilitators to provide community members with options of alternative methods of healing; some may wish to go the clinical route but want tools to fill the void between sessions. We also have some creative initiatives we run with different creative communities in hopes to preserve those areas, while creating positive dialogue within our own community.
